Bossy Mamas
What: Celebrate women in business with some shopping, wine tasting and entertainment.
Why: Bossy Mama’s fabulously talented group of 60 women entrepreneurs will flaunt their stuff at this unique show – and ofcourse, kids are welcome!
When: Saturday, October 23 from 11am – 5pm. Admission is free, but please bring diapers (or cash) to donate to  Terra Centre for Pregnant and Parenting teens.

A Culinary Twist
Lit Fest

What: A nonfiction festival with a series of events, chic gatherings and gourmet experiences – and, this weekend is all about fine food!
Why: Friday night’s Savouries combines food readings with a four-course meal prepared by Chef Gail Osbeck at Kids in the Hall. On Saturday, Genu-wine is serving wine while a panel of writers discuss global issues. Finish the non-fiction/food tour by attending a ‘Brunch of Writers’ to dine with a food columnist, illustrator and geopolitical expert on the environment.
When: Savouries (Friday, October 22 at 6pm), Genu-Wine (Saturday, October 23 at 7pm) and a Brunch of Writers (Sunday, October 24 at 11 am)
Where: All over Edmonton and surrounding area.

Scare Tactics

Halloween is next weekend, start celebrating the annual fright night with a bit of advanced planning.
Why: Choose your pumpkin at the Prairie Gardens Pumpkin Patch, stroll the haunted streets on Edmonton a Ghost Tour, get creative and put together your costume, and if nothing else, enjoy something pumpkin!
When: Edmonton Ghost Tours occur nightly at 7pm. $10 per soul or $30 per family. No advance booking required, just show up at meeting spot (10322- 83rd Avenue in Old Strathcona).

Winning Action
Oil Kings, Oilers & Eskimos
Edmonton’s sport teams all play at home – score yourself some tickets or hit up a local pub to cheer with fellow beer drinking Edmontonians.
Edmonton is one of the best cities to be a fan - join the fun. Headed to Rexall Place - use the handy food finder to find something delicious.

M.A.D.E: Edmonton Design Exposed

: Media, Art and Design, Exposed (M.A.D.E) is celebrating 10 years of lectures, film screenings, exhibitions and competitions with Edmonton Design Exposed.

Pumpkins & Pirates
Muttart Conservatory
What: A day of imagination for kids (and grown-ups!).
Why: Haunted treasure haunts, pumpkin carving tips, pumpkin crafts, a ‘How brave are you?” contest, and don’t leave without your planted ‘Creepy Fig’.
When: Sunday, October 24 from 1pm-4pm.
