Down. Set. Hut. It’s a Grey Cup blitz in Edmonton.
The Grey Cup Festivities officially kick-off with a party on Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 5:30pm at Churchill Square - known as Huddle Town for the next five days.
Tickets to the 98th Grey Cup sold out in record time. Tickets to other festival events are going just as fast. Last minute rushing, long line-ups and sold-out events will sack your plans. So, gather up your teammates and set your game plan for the week. Here’s City and Dale's snap shot overview of all events. ShareEdmonton has nifty tool to subscribe to an iCal of all events. For a map, download the Huddle Guide.
Visit Huddle Town at Churchill Square for football games, the TSN Broadcast Zone, CFL player autographs and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Quench your thirst and hunger at Boston Pizza’s Sports Bar smack in the middle of Churchill Square. For an adrenaline rush, try tackling the 520’ long, 80’ high zipline across Huddle Town.
Get your happy dance on at Underground Sound in the parkade beneath City Centre Mall. Thursday thru Saturday, the venue will host Gibson’s Finest Prop Players’ Award Show After Party, Underground Huddle and Scotiabank Prop Players’ Party.
For two big shows, check out the Molson Canadian Cabarets. Friday night features Matthew Good, Theory of a Deadman and Daniel Wesley. Saturday’s line-up includes Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, Andrew Cole and Wide Mouth Mason. Tickets are $39. Get tickets for Friday and Saturday.
If your knowledge of football is limited to the movie Friday Night Lights, check out the Edmonton Journal’s A Dummy’s Guide to Football.
