Legislative Light Up
Winter Wonderland
What: The Legislative Grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland with trees sparkling with lights and free skating on the skating rink.
Why: Free hot chocolate is served in the evenings while the choir performs from 6-9pm. You can also take in the choir sounds from noon to 1pm. See complete choir performance schedule.
Where: Alberta Legislative Grounds (10820 - 98 Avenue)
When: Christmas Light Up takes place on Thursday, Dec 4 at 4pm. You can enjoy the festivities from Dec 2 – Jan 14.

Mittens & Scarves
Snowflake Festival

What: Light up the holidays with the city of St. Albert – even Santa is making the trip from the North Pole.
Why: The whole downtown core comes alive with an Elves Workshop, lantern parade, horse and wagon rides, live reindeers, and snowflakes everywhere! Bring a non-perishable food donation to help the Fill-A-Bus campaign.

Deck the Halls
Festival of Trees
What: Beautifully decorate trees, a North Pole Post Office, cooking decorating, and a special Secret Shop for kids only where volunteers will help them complete their holiday shopping (nothing is over $5).
Why: This festival is more than holiday fun, it raises funds for state-of-the-art technology to support the brain sciences program at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Where: Shaw Conference Centre (9797 Jasper Avenue). Admission is $6 for adults, $1 for youth and seniors.
When: Thursday, Dec 2 – Sunday, Dec 6. Daily from 9am-9pm, Sunday from 9am-5pm.

The Fine Art of Schmoozy
Latitude 53
What: The perfect mix of an art auction, live music, great food and drink, and fabulous company.
Why: There’s a talented line-up of artists includingAllen Ball, Brenda Draney, Marc Siegner, Patrick Higgins, Raymond Biesinger, and many more.
Where: Latitude 53 (10248 - 106 Street). Buy your tickets online for $15-$25.
When: Saturday, Dec 4. Doors open at 8pm.

Winter Wonderland Craft Market
Handmade Mafia 
What: Over 40 local crafters, designer and makers of pretty things gather to celebrate the holidays with the art of handmade
Why: Shop to live music and hit up the bake sale!

When: Saturday, December 4 from 10am-4pm

To Market, To Market
Winter Market on the Square
What: Do some holiday shopping with over 40 vendors from the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market. Take home delectable baking, farm fresh produce, and handcrafted gifts – all under heated tents!
Why: Enjoy a hay ride or join the marshmallow roast at the bonfire.

Holiday Training
Santa Shuffle
What: The annual Santa Shuffle 5 KM Fun Run & 1 KM Elf Walk  
Why: This merry event helps The Salvation Army to assist families and individuals in need during the Christmas season and throughout the year.
Where: William Hawrelak Park. Sign up online or at the Running Room. Registration is $20.
When: Saturday, Dec 4 at 10am.

A Christmas Past
Christmas at the Rutherford House
What: Experience the unique sparkle of this elegant house where the halls are decked for the holidays.
Why: Enjoy the sweet harmonies of seasonal music, make a craft, help bake cookies in the historic kitchen and sample some hot apple cider.
