Edmonton’s Original Farmers’ Market opened today. The weather was perfect. I adore the farmer's market for making eating close to home so simple and scrumptious. The farm and the city collide at this urban gathering of farm-fresh produce, locally-raised meats, delicious baking, and breads so yummy they only last a few hours. Once satisfied on the culinary front, I explore the handcrafted jewelry, unique fashion accessories, original artwork and stylish home décor. This market attracts Edmonton’s best - it's easy to get to know the local growers, producers, artisans and fellow-shoppers. Today, I stocked up on herbs for my herb garden from Inspired Market Gardens.
I adored how the businesses that lined the street joined the party - free appetizers from Lit Wine Bar, outdoor tables at Tzin, and a steady line-up at Credo.
Rain or shine, the 104th Street Farmers’ Market is open from May long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. Here's a map to make sure you arrive.
