Chit Chat, Chit Chat – Edmonton Pecha Kucha #7 – June 3

Pecha Kucha! Pecha Kucha! So fun to say, even better to attend. Pecha Kucha is a Japanese term for “chit chat” – and any good Pecha Kucha evening stirs chatter across the room, across twitter and across Edmonton. The evening is based-on a simple concept – 20 x 20 – 20 images for 20 seconds each. The minimalism of the format encourages creative thinking and favours brilliant speakers. The topics are varied, but should stay close to the theme of exploring local ideas in the areas of design, planning, technology, arts and culture.

My fingers are crossed that tonight’s Pecha Kucha delivers thought-provoking, inspiring presentations. Pecha Kucha # 6 (February 2010) was disappointing. The presentations were overly self-promoting and poorly delivered. Regardless of the topic – presentations should captivate the audience and encourage discussion. My expectations are high for tonight, but the line-up of speakers looks outstanding! See you tonight. On twitter @kendallbarber
