Urban Eden Community Garden keeps it local by creating an urban garden in the core of Edmonton’s downtown. Close to 60 gardeners dedicate their free time to planting, tending and sowing homegrown vegetables like carrots, peas, lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, herbs, and green onions. A growing number of people care deeply about the origins of their food. For those willing to put their green thumbs to the test, community gardens are sprouting up in cities across Canada.
Wish you could toss together a salad chop full of ingredients from your own backyard (or from your nearby garden plot)? Then, this party is for you!
Attend Urban Eden Community Garden’s open house to learn more about community gardening in Edmonton. To celebrate, they’ve planned a community picnic.
