Western Canada Fashion Week
What: It’s showtime! Eight days of runway shows featuring lines from local, Canadian and international top designers. Stay current with the fashion notes in The Dossier.
Why: Creative chaos takes over Edmonton. You’ll get to know and love the designers – and be fashionably chic in the newest trends.
Where: Westbury Theater at the Transalta Arts Barn (10330 – 84 ave)
When: Thursday, Sept 16 – Thursday, Sept 23. Full schedule. Tickets to nightly shows are $22 online. Nightly runway shows at 8pm (doors open at 7pm)
Party on Every Block
Community League Day
What: Over half of the city (91 community leagues) are throwing a party!
Why: Meet the folks in your community with fun happenings - free swims, BBQs, block parties, penny carnivals, baking contests and so much more.

Rock Solid Run
Rock ‘N’ Roll Climb of Hope Run
What: A unique 5KM run/walk that will have you stair-climbing (4 flights of stairs), hill running (Victoria hill) and busting out moves to rock n’ roll music. All participants are encouraged to dress-up in rock n’ roll
Why: Presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House, this run benefits the Cross Cancer Institutes’ vision of a Cancer-Free Future. Start by getting fueled up with coffee from Starbucks, and stay for the after-party. Dress in your best rock n’ roll outfit to win some rockin’ prizes!
Where: Race starts and ends in Victoria Park (map)
When: Saturday, September 18. Rock band starts at 9:30am, runners and walkers get their groove-on at 10am. Register now for $40.
Alberta Art Days
What: Three days to discover, experience and celebrate Alberta’s arts and culture.
Why: Artists, musicians and organizations across Edmonton are showcasing their talents with events and behind-the-scenes tours. Almost all of Alberta’s provincially-owned historic sits and museums are offering free admission. Go check out the Royal Alberta Museum for free!

When: Friday, September 17 – Sunday, September 18
What: A fun, free one-hour workshop introduction to the symphony orchestra concert experience.
Why: Learn the basics and stay for the free concert to hear choral music, performances by Edmonton Symphony musicians, and the lovely Davis Concert Organ.
Details: Symphony 101 – Saturday, September 18 from 1-2pm in the Founders Room. Event is free, but guests must first register by email firstname.lastname@example.org

Behind the Scenes
Citadel Open House
What: An afternoon of behind-the-scene tours, displays and presentations.
Why: There will be backstage tours, rehearsals, dance choreography, design presentations, activities for kids, displays for the upcoming 2009/2010 productions and more.
