Symphony Under the Sky

Symphony under the Sky is brilliant. The venue is intimate and embraces the last weekend of summer with lawn chairs, picnic blankets, beer, popcorn and ice cream. This open-sky picnic fills the night with beautiful music. If you didn't make it this year, make a pact with yourself to go next year.

Last night, I enjoyed 'The Piano Men' performance - it was fun and interactive. The crowd sang all their favourite Billy Joel and Elton John songs, and even hummed along to the music from 1970s TV sitcoms.

There are still some tickets available to the 'Great Canadian Song Book" on Monday, September 6 at 2pm. From Four Strong Winds to Snowbird, Big Yellow Taxi to Heart of Gold, the ESO will play celebrated and memorable Canadian hits. Pick up your tickets at the box office (cash only) at Hawrelak Park.

Volunteers from the audience provide the 'naaa na na na na naaaa' to Elton John's classic Crocodile Rock.

All bundled up for the fall sky. Delighted to discover these festival-perfect mini bottles of wine. The top is a glass that screws off for convenient wine sipping.
