Skincare, meet Makeup. Makeup, meet Skincare.

It’s about time. We’re not sure why this hasn’t happened sooner.  How many times have you put on your moisturizer, foundation, and then concealer, wondering why there has to be so many different steps?  BB Cream is the answer – a combination of skincare and makeup.

BB Cream stands for Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm.   It’s more than just a tinted moisturizer!  Originally developed for use after laser surgical procedures, it is a miracle product that combines primer, foundation, moisturizer, pore minimizer, and sun block.  Some BB creams include skin whiteners and brighteners, too.  Each BB cream has a slightly different combination of these properties to dramatically cut down the amount of products you’ll be applying to your face.  This product is absolutely huge in Korea and other Asian countries, and we are slowly starting to see it gain popularity in the West.

This product is new to us so we can’t say which one is our favorite yet, but we’re seeing more and more excitement about this product hitting editorials.  Sephora.com offers a few different brands and we’re keeping our eyes peeled in drug stores for the mass cosmetic brands’ version (Garnier currently has a huge advertisement campaign in London’s transit system – it’s only a matter of time before we see something similar here in Edmonton).

Intrigued? Us too! Here’s a round-up of some products hitting the shelves of Sephora:

  1. Boscia B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA+++
  2. Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30
  3. Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 PA+++
