What: The Oilers are collecting diapers to benefit Edmonton’s Food Bank, an organization that distributes diapers to local families in need. Fans are encouraged to bring an unopened pack of diapers to the game or make a cash donation in exchange for a chance to win prizes.
Why: Help get diapers to babies. 1 in 5 Canadian mothers struggles with diaper need, and have had to cut back on basics – food, utilities such as heat or electricity, or even childcare – in order to provide enough diapers for their babies.
Even Better: Can't make the game? Fans can also text the name of their favourite NHL team (e.g. for Edmonton Oilers, text “Edmonton” or “Oilers”) to 20222 in Canada to donate $5 and help diaper babies in their community.
