Sometimes a gal needs a little business boost. Especially in the world of retailing.
Give a warm welcome to the newly formed Women in Retailing Network – an organization dedicated to supporting and encouraging women with careers in retail through networking events, learning opportunities and a mentorship program.
This group of talented ladies recognizes the unique challenges (and many rewards) women face in the retailing business. The two inaugural events for the Women in Retailing Network featured a networking event set against the backdrop of the Edmonton Opera and a breakfast with Annette Verschuren, the former President of the Home Depot Canada. Annette spoke passionately about her love for the retailing sector, the ‘glass ceiling’ in the male dominated world of home hardware and how she used her strengths as a woman to make powerful leadership decisions.
Inspirational? Absolutely. You need to join.
Here’s the plan:
Are you an owner of a clothing boutique? Manager of a retail operation? A marketing genius or banking wizard that divulges knowledge to the retail sector? A registered university student studying business? Join the Women in Retailing Network.
The requirements: You’re a female passionate about taking your career in retailing to the next level.
