What: Edmonton’s modern rock festival featuring an outstanding line-up – Jane’s Addiction, Cee Lo Green, Cake, Manchester Orchestra, Metric and more.
Why: Kaa-Boom! This all-day fest features beer gardens and autograph sessions.
When: Sunday, September 4. Gates open at 11am.

Open Sky Orchestra
Symphony Under the Sky
What: A Labour Day weekend classic. Cap off your summer with great music while enjoying music under our Alberta Sky.
Why: Festival conductor Bob Bernhardt leads the orchestra through a diverse line-up of concerts that span everything from Mozart to Hollywood and Broadway favourites.
When: Friday, September 2 - Monday, September 5
Where: Hawrelak Park (map). Tickets from $12-$35 (some shows have reached capacity).


 Fall Winery Tour
Birds & the Bees Organic Winery

What: Spend a day in the country with wine and honey tastings; orchard and cellar tours; and enjoy homemade pie served with ice cream.

Why: Delightful wines with adorable names – Little Flirt Rhubarb, Adam’s Apple and more.

When: Sunday, September 4 starting at 1pm.


Let’s Chuck Some Corn!
Corn Fest

What: Corn eating contests, corn mazes, wagon rides, a petting farm, live musical entertainment by the Keith Rempel band and hay-bale art competitions..
Why: There’s an ice cream stand - it may be the last time you want to eat something cold for a while!
When: Saturday, September 3 – Monday, September 5.
Where: Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm, Bon Accord (map). Admission is reasonable at $8 a head or $7.50 each for a family of four.
