Lit Fest
What
: A nonfiction festival (the only one in Canada) with a series of events, chic gatherings and gourmet experiences.

Why: The line-up of events reads better than a great novel. Award-winning and emerging authors of books, magazines and films bring nonfiction content to life while guests taste all of the gourmet food selected specially for each event.

The Good Hundred Party
What: An unsectored gathering of Edmonton’s savviest do-gooders and community members for a night of networking and celebration
Why: A chance to meet future collaborators and people who can help take your initiative further – over drinks and tapas!

LOL (Actually)
Edmonton Comedy Festival
What: Sit down for stand up at the annual Edmonton Comedy Festival
Why: Spend the weekend laughing with improv, sketch to traditional stand-up.

Where: Seven venues around town including The Citadel and convention centres.

Organized Chit Chat
Pecha Kucha Night 14
What: Presenters aim to get what's on their mind onto the audience's mind with 20 slides, 20 seconds per slide.
Why: You never know what topic you're going to be enlightened about and always a unique way to learn something new.

Laugh For Life Gala
What: A night of comedy and silent auction in support of charitable groups that exemplify the call to “love our neighbor” like The Mustard Seed
Why: Another way to get your comedy fix this weekend, this time at the Winspear!
Where: Winspear Centre,
When: Saturday, October 20 – silent auction starts at 6pm, show at 7pm. Tickets start at $39.50.

I Scream, You Scream...
Farm of Fear
What: For nine nights before Halloween, the Corn Maze’s neighbouring farm yard, an old barn, and parts of the corn field become a fearful evening event.
Why: Actors, spooky surprises, props, and the eerie corn field turn an ordinary farm yard into a farm of fear

Fall Gallery Walk
What: Spend time perusing eight galleries around the curve of Jasper Ave and 124 St.
Why: Gallery Walk was formed in 1986 to promote art and artists of merit with a focus on work by Canadian artists.
