What: The last few days of this festival that features independent films from around the globe, including 55 feature-length productions, and 110 short films.

Why: One weekend left to take in great films and attend the Closing Night Gala!

Rapid Fire Theatre
What: Edmonton’s longest running improve theatre – 32 years and counting!
Why: A hilarious, inexpensive (only $12) night out at the citadel
Where: Ziedler Hall at The Citadel Theatre (9828 101 A Ave)
When: Every weekend -Friday’s Theatresports at 7:30pm and 10:00pm, Saturday’s Chimprov at 10pm

Brewing Up Some Fun
Shabam Beer Tasting Festival

What: The 3rd annual event brings beer enthusiasts together to taste the region’s finest handcrafted brews
Why: Sherbrooke Liquor Store knows how to wrangle up the best beers to taste, all in support of the Kidney Foundation
Where: Mayfield Inn & Suites, 16615-109 Ave
When: Saturday, Oct 6 at 5:00pm. Tickets available in advance ($25each or two for $45)

Get Lost!
Edmonton’s Original Corn Maze

What: A giant maze through a corn field – more than 5 km of twists and turns and 85 points to make tough navigational decisions.
Why: Being a part of the maze is a lot more fun than tracing a pencil through one on paper!
Where: Just west of the city in Parkland County. Here are directions and a helpful map.
When: Ongoing til October 20.  Plan your visit here. Special opening on Thanksgiving Monday from 10am-9pm
