Local foodie/chef/teacher Kathryn Joel is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu School in London and has cooked all over the world before settling in Edmonton to start her business Get Cooking. Focusing on local and in-season ingredients, she teaches a wide range of international cooking styles.
On top of classes scheduled for the public, she is available for private groups as well. I sat down to lunch with her after one such class to learn about her lunch routine.
Brown Bag or Out: neither- leftovers at home!
Way to stay hydrated: water and herbal teas.
Favored lunch vegetable: Tomatoes- raw with olive oil, malden sea salt and basil.
Spot to lunch: Mostly at home, but I love Wasabi for sushi.
My lunch always... includes fresh, seasonal produce.
Today's lunch is: leftovers from a private cooking class last night- chicken thighs with porcini mushrooms and potatoes and a farro salad with roasted vegetables and feta cheese.
Ever curious about people and food, I started the Love to Lunch series. It's a fun way to get to know Edmontonians through their lunch routines. To see previous lunches, click here.
