What: Presenters aim to get what's on their mind onto the audience's mind with 20 slides,
20 seconds per slide.
Why: You never know what topic you're going to be enlightened about and always a unique way to learn something new.

O Christmas Tree!
Christmas on the Square Holiday Light Up

What: A celebration of Christmas and the lighting of City Hall's 72' Christmas Tree
Why: Fun for everyone - music, stilt walkers, face-painting, carollers, fireworks and lots of lights!
Where: Sir Winston Churchill Square
When: 4-6:30pm, Tree is officially lit by Santa at 6pm
   
Meeting of The Minds
Festival of Ideas
What: Festival City + University (all about ideas) = Festival of Ideas
Why: It's a week of innovative speakers, though provoking lectures, and meetings of many minds including Nobel Peace Prize winners, authors, musicians, and intellects. You don't need a university education to be inspired by these presenters.
Where: Various venues including Citadel Theatre, Winspear, and Myer Horowitz Theatre

The Cat's Meow
Alley Kat Launch Party
What: A double launch party to celebrate two new brews: Darn Tartan Scotch Ale and Three Boars
Oatmeal Stout
Why: Brewery tours every half hour, food, and samples of the new flavours

Making Spirits Bright
Leduc Festival of Trees

What: Fully decorated trees in a silent auction, spirit tastings, high tea, craft workshops, photos with santas, and much more!
Why: A celebration of community and business to get you into the spirit of the season.
