What: Raise funds for the Edmonton Jazz Festival Society by sipping over 150 full bodied and savory Argentinean wines. Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and live music.
Why: Edmonton loves its jazz as evident by the amazing auction items donated by the Edmonton community.

Art Party
Art on the Block
What: A night of cocktails and art bidding (low and high bids welcome!).
Why: Wear you best cocktail dress and support a night dedicated to raising funds for exhibition and education programming for thousands of Albertans.
Where: Art Gallery of Alberta (2 Sir Winston Churchill Square). Tickets $125.
When: Friday, May 4 at 7pm

Walk this Way
Jane’s Walk
A series of free neighbourhood walking tours to help put people in touch with their environment and with each other.
Why: On foot tour historic Glenora, downtown heritage buildings, or bring your sketchbook for Dérive Downtown, a psychogeographical exploration of the city based-on looks and feels.

The Artsy Type
Royal Bison Craft & Art Fair
What: Over 70 of Edmonton’s most gifted artists, crafters and creative talent sell their wares.
Why: A locals-only focus and a careful vendor selection that gravitates towards what hasn’t been given a shot elsewhere. This charming fair features clothing by local clothing designers: Mod Magpie Vintage Coats, cinder+smoke, Fridget Apparel, Salvaged and Sewn, Malorie Urbanovitch and Salgado Fenwick
Where: 8426 Gateway Blvd. $2 entrance fee.
Saturday, May 5 from 10am-5pm to Sunday, May 6 12pm-5pm. 

Beautiful Cause
Beauty and the Pleats

What: A silent auction beauty-nanza to benefit Edmonton’s Suit Yourself, a charitable organization that collects and distributes professional clothing to low income women who are seeking employment or transitioning into the workforce.
Why: Makeup demonstrations, swag bags, beauty baskets, and sweets by Duchess Bake Shop.
Where: LUX Beauty Boutique (12531-102 Avenue). Tickets are $10.
When: Sunday, May 6 from 11am-5pm

Downtown Stories
What: Celebrate the diverse stories of people who live downtown. Storytellers include blogger Mack Male and Edmonton Public Library’s writer-in-residence.
Why: It’s also the popular Books2Buy; buy books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks... all for a buck or two!
Where: Stanley A. Milner Library (99 Street and 102 Avenue)
When: Saturday, May 5 from 10am-5pm

Cinco de Mayo
What: A Cinco de Mayo party featuring Edmonton’s legendary Latin funk ambassadors.
Why: A party + a CD release + festive Cinco de Mayo vibe.
Where: The Starlite Room (10030 102 Street). Tickets $24.75
When: Saturday, May 5. Doors at 9pm. Show at 10pm.

The von Trapp's & You
Sound of Music
Since 1959, this musical about the von Trapp family has been stealing hearts onstage and big screens.
Why: Do…re…me…fa… so… la… ti… do… do not miss this production.
