If you love live music or are looking for something different to do for a Friday or Saturday night out, Elevation Room is the place for you. You’ll have no excuse not to check it out after learning more about it.
What: Elevation Room - Edmonton's best new intimate venue for live music
Where: Located (ironically) in the basement of Transcend Coffee (10349 Jasper Ave)
When: Every Friday and Saturday night, all year long! The occasional off-show will be scheduled throughout the week to accomodate some artists that just can’t be missed!
Tickets: Available at the door, usually only $10! Shows are all ages.
What you’ll really love about Elevation Room is that everyone is there for the music. Joe Gurba (venue manager and the man behind a great local record label) works hard to bring the best artists from all over North America and showcase Edmonton’s most talented performers. The occasional show is loud, heavier music, but Joe likes to keep the majority of the shows “prettier performances” with a really intimate feel. The room is full of chairs facing forward - the venue is all about focusing on the performance. In the breaks between artists, hop upstairs to mingle while sipping on Transcend’s specialty coffee, or try something new from their bar that features wine, ciders, and some local brews on tap.
This week, you can catch The AwesomeHots, Lou Wreath, and Layne L’Heureux on Friday night. Then Saturday will be the CD release party for Dead Red Pine with Bramwell Park. Visit the Elevation Room website for upcoming shows and reviews of the talent that you’ve missed out on in previous weeks.
