What: Three days to discover, experience and celebrate Alberta’s arts and culture.
Why: Artists, musicians and organizations across Edmonton are showcasing their talents with events and behind-the-scenes tours. Almost all of Alberta’s provincially-owned historic sits and museums are offering free admission.

When: Friday, Sept 28 – Sunday, Sept 30.
Sturgeon County Bounty
What: A very long lunch featuring food grown locally in Sturgeon County. Taste local apples, pork, carrots, pumpkin, artisan-made sausage, and wheat grass. Visit ice cream parlour for a treat.
Why: This event features locally-grown food, and the farmers, chefs, and producers behind the food. While you’re visiting, check out the Corn Maze.

When: Saturday, September 29 from 11am – 3pm.
What: German beer, bratwurst on a bun and live music by the Bavarian Schuhplattlers.
Why: Put on by the German Canadian Cultural Centre this festival is guaranteed to have an authentic Oktoberfest – so authentic it spans the whole two weeks!

When: Thursday, Sept 27 to Saturday, Sept 29. Nightly from 6pm to 11pm. Admission is free.
Reel Good Times
Edmonton International Film Festival
What: Nine days of cinema featuring independent films from around the globe, including 55 feature-length productions, and 110 short films.
Why: An event this stellar, the tickets go fast! Don’t miss the Opening Night Gala Film: Becoming Redwood.

Eatin' for a Cause
A Taste of Old Strathcona
What: A sampling of old Strathcona cuisine, silent auction and entertainment.
Why: You can eat, drink, shop, and be entertained with this eclectic community while raising money for the Old Strathcona Foundation.
When: Friday, Sept 24 from 7-10pm
Where: TransAlta Arts Barns, Tickets are $40.
Crash the Citadel
What: The Citadel Theatre is transforming into a Club featuring spunky jazz infusions of Edmonton's own Audrey Ochoa and the Crashers and spinning by DJs Urban Monks.
Why: Your only chance to party really hard at The Citadel.
