This time of year is my favorite. As we slowly move into Fall, I am starting to collect cozy new wardrobe pieces and clothes that will work well to layer. It happens to be back to school time for me (and for some of you or your kids) so it’s the perfect time to start some fresh routines. I love putzing around the aisles of London Drugs to see what’s new and reminding myself of all the things I could possibly use at home (I’m sure you will agree).
I spoke with the Cosmetics Manager of the Oliver Square location, Sandy, to find out what’s new and fun for Fall. My visit was a little premature – the Fall color collections are still rolling in (hint: gold, amethyst, and forest green) – but I was able to stock up on some basics that everyone needs for their cosmetic toolkit. I love that they have a new private label line called London Look that stocks all the basics for your personal care toolkit – nail clippers, makeup sponges, tweezers, cotton swabs, and all other implements your kit needs. All of these are really affordable. To me, things like this don’t need to be a fancy name brand to do the trick.
As for some fun new products, there are a few that stood out to me as staples for Fall. LD is seeing BB creams flying off their shelves (we first introduced this to you last December). The top three brands they can’t keep enough of: Maybelline with SPF 30-$10.99, Marcelle-$22.99 (Canadian, hypoallergenic), and Lancome-$90 (available at select LD locations). They have two of the world’s best selling mascaras available in sets with mini Lancome products to try – Lancome Definicils and Hypnose Drama mascaras. The last product I’ll mention is Rapid Lash Eyelash and Eyebrow Enhancing Serum. This is a serum that you apply to clean lashes before bed that stimulates the growth of your natural lash. It’s a great alternative for those of you who would like the effect of eyelash extensions using your natural lashes. The product is $60 but often goes on sale for $40. They also have a rewards program where you get one free after you buy 5 (stock up when they go on sale and get your friends and family hooked too).
I was really surprised to find out that they have plenty of rewards programs in their beauty department. They have specialized stamp cards for many brands like Lancome, Vichy, Biotherm, Lise Watier, Clarins, Rapid Lash, and more. It’s perfect because people stay pretty loyal to their skincare and cosmetic brands, so it’s nice to work towards free products when you know you’ll be buying more anyway.
Take some time to yourself and peruse the aisles of London Drugs (find your closest location here). It’s refreshing to see what’s new and spoil yourself with some necessary or unnecessary products!
