Game On: Edmonton's NextGen is hosting another event in their DIYalogue series. This one is DIYalogue Talks Quality Play - a mix-and mingle inspired by the worlds of gaming, game-playing, and healthy competition. Take part in 15 minute speed-dating sessions with a range of gamers from board games to roller derby. Tickets are $10 available online here.

Frosty Fun: The 10th annual Ice on Whyte Festival starts on Friday and runs til February 3. Stop by their new location at Gateway Boulevard and Tommy Banks Way (about 5 blocks North of Whyte Ave). This weekend you'll catch the International Ice Carving Competition that kicks off the outdoor fun for the week.

Yes, please: Fork Fest returns for its final few days on Sunday (Jan 27-31). Local restaurants team up to offer you multi-course meals for $25 or $45 per person. Read You Like a Book: Edmonton Public Library is hosting a Human Library event on January 26 where participants are able to "check out a Living Book." What? It's actually some one-on-one time with an interesting person. Hear inspiring stories about their lives, ask them questions, be inspired. Mafia Life: Edmonton's Cash Mob returns on Saturday at 11:30am on 104 Street Promenade. The premise: bring $20 and a couple friends to shop at local stores in one big crowd of local-loving support.
