Buy these tickets now: Art on the Block is a swanky event at the Art Gallery of Alberta. Fancy eats, cocktails, entertainment, and of course, a silent art auction. Early bird price of $99 ends tomorrow (after that: $125).

Tonight marks the launch of Make Something Edmonton. You may have heard, but haven't completely understood. Make Something Edmonton is a call to action. They have a task force that is committed to celebrating Edmonton's makers, builders, and doers by getting the word out about their projects and connecting them with collaborators to make them happen. It all started with the need to define why it is we live here. You can make anything, really. Maybe you want to build a community garden, throw a winter patio party, or paint a mural on a blank wall in the city. Tonight's launch party (that sold out in 48 hours) will be live streamed here by the Edmonton Journal.

Western Canada Fashion Week kicks off tonight at TransAlta Arts Barns. Designers and hairstylists will show off Spring trends combined with local talent. There are shows all week (schedule) and you can buy tickets here.

A conference for social media enthusiasts called iMedia Conference is held at the Fantasyland Hotel on Sunday. Kendall will be talking fashion, social media, and metrics on one of the panels! Tickets are available here.

Anyone going to the Home and Garden Show? It feels like an eternity will pass before we'll be watering any lush gardens, but it's nice to get some ideas ahead of time. There's lots of info and vendors for inside renovations, too!
