Note to email subscribers: We're aware that the emails are arriving after the weekend (not very helpful, we know). We are working hard to find a solution ASAP! Thanks for your patience. For now, please check CityandDale.com directly on Thursdays so you don't miss out on the weekend events!
Garneau Theatre will be home to The Culture Collective, showcasing Edmonton's talented film, performing arts, and music communities. The show is on Thursday at 7pm. Tickets available in advance ($10) or a limited number will be at the door ($20).
A downtown favourite, Taste of Edmonton, runs until July 28 in Churchill Square. Sample dishes from over 50 local restaurants. It's easy: buy tickets, exchange 2-6 tickets for each food item, then bon appetit! This year, you can attend the chef-led workshops, enjoy an evening pop-up tasting, watch competitions, and shop at the daily market.
K-days kicks off this weekend (running until July 28 at Northlands Park). Downtown streets will be lined with spectators for the K-Days Parade on Friday morning at 10am. The parade route starts in Churchill Square heading west on 102 Ave to 105 St and back along 103 Ave. Get there early to claim a good spot! For all the rides, concerts, and other K-Days events, check their website.
Last chance! Plop thy bum on the grass: Shakespeare + the great outdoors = Freewill Shakespeare. Until Sunday, enjoy a performance of King Lear or A Midsummer Night's Dream (alternating days) at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park. Don't worry, you're covered if it's raining! Saturday's Matinee is pay-what-you-will. Check the schedule here.
