Happy birthday to Metro Cinema at the Garneau Theatre! Celebrate with them on Friday at 7pm - free admission and popcorn, short local films, live performances, and a preview of what you can see year round at Metro Cinema.

Nerds unite! The power of the nerds has outgrown the old venue, so Nerd Nite kicks off its new season at the Citadel on Thursday night. It's the same nerdy format: 3 experts in their fields present for about 20 minutes each, with breaks for drinks in between. Get your ticket before they're gone.

Couldn't have explained it better ourselves: "Everyone’s 3rd favourite, local late-night talk show is taking over Metro Cinema at the Garneau! Edmonton Wowie!  will be commandeering the big red curtain for a cavalcade of local talent and luminaries." It all happens Saturday night, doors at 7pm. Tickets are available in advance at Blackbyrd and Barber Ha ($10).

Alberta Avenue will be alive with creativity for Kaleido Family Arts Festival (Friday-Sunday). Performances will be everywhere: rooftops, back alleys, parks, and spaces old and new on 118 Ave. More info and schedule are available here.
